it's not s tier and it is crap outside of players 1. You can play Bane (but your not really echoing strike ur just bane magic dmg es which is worse than every other lock build btw and is slow on p8.) So yes it's 100% garbage post nerf vs the bugged version where it was 1 shotting on p8, it is no longer a P8 ladder racer it's like a D tier build now.
Bane is good, ES is not.
Abyss lock
Fire lock
Bloodboil
Cleave/Mirrored Blade are all better builds than ES for fast p8, Bloodboil is the new build everyone is gonna use for first 99.
To be clear, its hex purge not hex bane. Hex bane is a really underwhelming and crappy ES build, hex purge is very good aoe and nearly as fast at killing as pre-patch ES
But hex purge as per the OP lacks the sustain of physical ES pre-patch, and lacks the single target DPS. It can clear P8 chaos reasonably fast, comparable to an infinity nova sorc / etc- but its dps to hell diablo is sad and vs baal/ubers just forget about it
Its telling that I was in baal runs yesterday with about 9x summon tainted crowded around the spawn zone and baal vaporized instantly. People already figured this one out
