Just to be clear because people keep sliding this into “you want free stuff / d3 mentality”…
I don’t want free items. I don’t want sunders raining from the sky.
The whole point is session gating.
In LoD the chase was RNG. You could still hit it in a short session if you got lucky.
With ROTW, a latent sunder is locked behind a ramp up. Not “rare” but “rare AFTER you stacked the game up enough”. That’s what feels off. It favors staying in one game for hours, full act clears, controlled games, fillers, clans, whatever… Public play gets worse because nobody wants to burn their shards in a random lobby and have the chain/loot go sideways.
That’s why it feels like the system pushes people into private p8 setups and multi accounts even more than before, and why casual 1 account players feel left out, as many other posters in this thread seem to agree with.
If Blizz wants this to feel like D2 again, keep the chase item rare but remove the session wall. Like… let any herald have a decent chance and higher tiers have better odds, or keep latent rare but bring back regular sunders in normal TZs, or make the ramp not reset so hard when you log off.
Anyway, thread made me happy tbh… clearly not just me seeing it.
You’re right, in many ways.
I haven’t even been able to spawn a herald above tier 3 within the 30 minute window for the last few days. I kinda gave up on tz for now and shifted over to farming 9 keys. The herald hunting just started to feel like a big waste of time. I have previously battled several tier 5 - herald and still no latent sunder. They don’t go down easily and if it spawns near the end of 30 minutes, will it even count?
