d4 was so bad, entire community decided to quit and jump onto d2r to play an actual good game and crashed the servers. Smh

Apparently http://forums.d2jsp.org/user.php?i=29002212 is the reason the servers went down. They were cheating using some kind of duping hack.

Yup. Heard that they would drop the item on the ground and walk over to go pick it up then immediately click a potion in their belt.
