Is there a flaw in my testing and calculations?
From what we did in tests at P8

Classic 98-99 14.3k D
20350 Diablo with Shrine
15077 adding the 3 seal bosses

Usually able to keep up the efficiency for a good 24 hours straight. And if we had a couple of different people on the main it would keep us fairly fresh.

So I haven't done classic before, but interested in hearing that strategy of putting level 1s in the corner. Do you have to make sure they RIP? Otherwise they will start gaining exp?


where are u getting ur data for calcs?
whats ur value for diablo base exp mlvl 90?

if they aren't gaining exp I don't believe the calculation will work.

base on this:

"Experience In a Party
The total experience earned for killing a monster is increased by 35% when a party member of the killer is in the same named area, defined as the "level" on the Automap. Then the pool is divided as explained below:

The total experience earned for killing a monster is divided evenly among all party members. Each member's share of the experience is equal to the member's level divided by the sum of all members' levels."

so 135% * 98/99 = 133.6%

a 33.6% exp boost for the brief moment your party member is level 1 lol

I don't believe it works if they're dead, but worth testing. Also I don't believe it would work if they're out of range for exp, but again, worth testing.

the break even on this would be level 34, after which exp loss would occur

using 20350 Diablo with Shrine for 98-99

assuming 3 minute runs 24 hours a day p8 solo diablo kill

41.66 days 98-99 lol

1,000 hours.

I think optimized would be getting people to play all at same time and clear chaos on p1, leaving last seal then searching shrine

all in a voice chat - just calling in the 98

theoretically you could just hop from game to game, bring in loaders, get shrine, pop seal, kill diablo

this is essentially how notVita & bit would bot - except diablo was spawned on p8 already and weakened

i wish I could find the video it's pretty hillarious, games are literally tk wp, make portal, tk exp shrine portal, tk shrine, tk portal, tk own portal, tk wp, tk diablo portal, 1 blizzard on diablo offscreen, s/e

lol 8 second games

obviously that level of optimization is crazy but I could see you getting it down to 1 p8 kill per minute if you have macros for loading the loaders in and a team of people setting up diablo to spawn off last seal + finding exp shrine

xp boosters work up to lvl 27 iirc.
Obv they level very fast in the beginning (1 lvl each up to lvl 9 or 10)
So you won't be able to kill them before that point in order to lose xp and stop leveling.
And it's a tedious task to do it at such a low lvl having to do it after each run.

They do need to be alive ofc - otherwise they don't gain xp and there will be no surplus to the high lvls xp gain.

It's common practice to use ~4 xp boosters (there's a sweet spot but I don't rly know) once you are past lvl 93.
Iirc the calc isn't cumulative - they more boosters u add the less effective it gets.

They pros usually do 2/8 runs or entirely solo 1/8 if they don't have a playmate.
And yes, foh to clear cs is the fastest on low player count though I've seen a speedrunner (forgot who, need to check history to find it) who did solo cs p1 with a tri-elemental soso (blizz, hydra, nova) who did it faster than anything I'd seen b4.
His set up was this: Barb with D quests opens game, gives bo and leaves. Then soso quickly clears seals, finds es and loads the game to p8 placing 4 boosters spawning D before killing him.

Gl finding a commited team - it'd be a great thing to see happening in D2R :thumbsup:

That can't be correct - otherwise the pros would only place one - but they place more.
