There was a private project that made Diablo playable, sadly I joined late but had tons of fun, cuz we had stackable gem and runes.
It was best time of my gaming life, died quickly cuz non profit of course.
Blizzard took it's let's say ideas and made d2r even worse than a single guy or few guys did on their own.

being able to craft ethereal items would be a great change
an identifier for ethereal items on the ground, this was talked about in like 1.09 but never came to fruition
fixing the TreasureClassEx duriel addition, I mean cmon lol this is literally changing a 5 to a -2 and a 2 to a 1, would take genuinely 3 seconds
allow curses/shrines to exist at the same time or at the bare minmum allow a shrine to "tank" a curse instead of removing the shrine and cursing you
Allow BO/BC/Shout to be used in town just like chant is now

TP Scrolls, ID Scrolls, Potions.... Whatevers in your belt... picks up when you run over it to fill any unused slots.
