The game worked perfectly well before synergies tbh, there would still be a huge difference between investing 1 and 20 points into a skill, severely limiting the number of skills you could use effectively.

Like being able to have proper dual element sorces back in the day. And yeah I miss the orb/nova/ts sorc :)

yo chicken littles. its a content patch. hell its practically an expansion given the last time d2 was updated. the announcement didnt say ploot. didnt say items are now BoA. didnt say anything about shifting away from the core gameplay. dunk your heads in the bath and recalibrate.

It depends on how it's implemented. Crap skills might as well not exist so buffing them into viability is good. You just don't want to get into a cycle of power creep and ever increasing numbers like D3 did.
