Lets do a little experiment. Get a group of people together, the only requirement is that they've never played D2. Show these people a screenshot of the classes standing around the campfire, both versions of the game, and ask them to point out the differences if they can spot any with special attention to the ama and barb. Results are predictable don't you think? The differences are very obvious, the ama looks like a dude with boobs, the barb looks like he's been put on a soy diet.
Now look at the ingame footage and think for a moment. They did a fantastic job on the environment, everything looks gorgeous, attention to every detail down to some garlic hanging from a beam in Lut Gholein. It's inconceivable that the artists weren't capable of recreating the classes or that there were technical difficulties or some other bullcrap.
This has nothing to do with the devs or the artists, they're stating how passionate they are about the project and how important it is for them that the remaster stays true to the original. They multiple times state they're looking at every detail.
The only conclusion is that this has been forced upon them by the ActiBlizz management. Now ask yourself for what reason, there's only one answer really --> 2021 gender politics are being forced upon the fans of a 2 decades old video game.
If this was a new videogame I wouldn't even bother with it cuz I can't stand the garbage they produce these days, last time I bought a title was at least 5 years ago. But this is a game that I love, granddaddy of ARPGs and in my opinion ActiBlizz has no right whatsoever to try get into the players' minds with their leftist propaganda.
It's an ARPG for christ sake, the classes are all very different and special it's part of the frikkin game. The barb is huge and muscular, his specialty is his strength that's why it's the only class capable of wielding two 2-handed swords. The ama compensates for that with her bow and spear skills it's an immensely powerful character.
The classic D2 classes are oozing diversity already, both male and female classes are present and skin tones range from white to dark WTF do you want more Blizzard.
I'm playing this videogame for fun, entertainment and immersion and your forced politically correct BS takes away from that experience. If I wanted to be fed propaganda I would turn on the TV but not play a videogame thank you very much.
You are 100% correct in your assumptions. This definitely has to do with the BS that is going on in society. I will tell you right now that at first I was excited because I thought this game might escape China but it didn't. All of the bs going on in society and these organizations are being funded by China to gut the U.S. and confuse people. Propaganda at a very high level. Most people are not smart enough to begin to comprehend. I have already identified multiple troll employees of Tencent that are waging a PR war n Diablo. I also have identified several individuals who are strategically aligned with 'social movements' that are paid to come to this site and spread their ideological 'ill' ideas. Most of whom have very little experience playing Diablo 2 and only wish to spread their 'cheerful message'. What people need to be careful of is getting baited into debates about others bullshit agendas. I just wanted to post that you are correct and you are going to run into armies of paid trolls if you bring up subjects like this. Anyways I bought the game the first 5 minutes of release and it is no big deal not to play. I smoke $50 in 10 minutes. $40 does not lock me into anything. I supported Activision because I thought it was our only chance to escape Chinese censorship being a U.S. owned company but that is just an illusion. Look at the NBA, they were willing to say 'Fk the U.S.' to get into the china market. You are correct in assuming it is bullshit, but what I will go further in saying is that it is way more than political correctness. This is part of a very large trillion dollar strategy to get people in line with radical thinking. To be honest freedom is under attack in all parts of the world and this is just a slice of it.
