Cursed only gives a 5% chance to proc per damage instance
You need cursed + holy freeze to get amp going properly

not sure about lancers, but with listers minions they won't apply amp, ever. Might be similar with champ minions, and if so, you will need either an elite or a trash unit, not an in between.

do Tainteds also snapshot the Demonic Mastery lvl when you summon them or only Tainted skill lvl?

specifically when using Measured Wrath +3 Tainted to prebuff (vs Ars'Tol Baalos)
that gives me +2 higher Tainted lvl, but lower Demonic Mastery (the dmg% there affects tainted dmg)

so when I summon them with MR, then re-equip Ars'Tol Baalos - will their dmg increase from the now higher Demonic Mastery lvl or stay the same?
not what the Tainted skill tab shows, but the actual damage of my already summoned tainteds..


If it does increase (and this is confirmed) - great
But if it doesnt - its questionable if there is even a point of swapping to MR to pre-buff
with my gear:
1) MR +3: Tainted 44 / DM 40 .. shows fire damage 17575 - 19450
2) Ars'Tol Baalos +3 DM: Tainted 42 / DM 44 ... 17631 - 19521

If you spot them first then turn the game tz with a shard, you may have already spawned in the lancer before you turned it into tz. It’ll say cursed but they’ll never do it.

Its my understanding that bound minions display their affixes but they don't work. Haven't tested all of them, perhaps they get the added lesser elemental damage from enchantments, but they don't get any functional cursed or enchantment resist or so on
Because that's how minions work in general, they display the affixes of their unique but only get partial / no bonus




I mean its been a pretty safe assumption so far but I don't think anyone's actually tested it- it should almost certainly snapshot at cast
It makes sense given how blizzard coded these minions to look up your skill levels when cast to set their parameters, and would be a real surprise if it used current value. Easiest test would be get a ~100 damage tainted, equip +99 mastery for +990% damage and see if it deals 11x the damage now
Its also why mang songs is better than a +3 demon / +3 tainted dagger, which could be shopped but would be extremely hard to shop. Its +131.25 damage / +50%, vs +157.5 damage / +30%

Can you explain why mang songs is better? I thought it was just used for the +5 skills, does the -fire res matter?

mang songs is +5 mastery +5 tainted when prebuffing
magic dagger can be +3 mastery / +6 tainted when prebuffing
as above, the +5/5 is better than +3/6
trash mang song with -7% rolls and no socket is all you need since you're just using it for +5 all skills


tomes don't have such options so you need whatever good magic/rare you can get. I have a +2 warlock / +3 tainted, but even a +3 demon / +2 tainted would be better

- 2 questions for you. I want an unstoppable killing machine and I want to do tz96 chaos as well. I want to kill everything in the game as fast or faster than bow lock.

Which is better
3 Tainteds or 2 Tainteds and a Cursed Lancer?

If you wanted to do a minimal prebuff, or no prebuff at all, what gear loadout are you going? Do you have to prebuff to be strong?

I’m not Glooms, but I’ll take a stab. Chaos has a lot of fire immunes usually so full Tainted isn’t the best way to clear especially fire immunes. You need your bound demon plus merc plus amp dmg plus blood boil to clear fire immunes. I’m not sure if there’s some set up with defiler and blood boil plus amp dmg demon to clear chaos faster specifically - which would trade off tainted dmg.

As for prebuff, pretty sure you have to prebuff to get up the 50+ level Tainted to hit the 25k+ fireballs you need to clear fast. It is a bit of a pain to pre summon and reload your setup before you leave each game but doesn’t take super long.
