no, it warps the game in a huge way for mind blast, smite, war cry and shockwave, but it also still warps the game to a significant extent for most pvp builds. Something as mundane as a fire sorc telestomping you can easily result in being FHR locked to death 100->0 in a situation where right now you can simply get hit once or twice while wsging away to dodge fireballs, then turn and punish the sorc. It completely destroys amazons who rely on Dodge/Evade/Avoid, since they have always been permastunned by
any rapid attacks hitting them of any kind and had only WSG as a way to interrupt it and reset. And even in situations where you can already escape, like blocking multiple times in a row, WSG is how you briefly reposition to escape and teleport out safely
the dueling meta is really not built for how the game handles animation interrupting effects that stop you from attacking/casting, because there are so many ways to be hitstun locked. It would be like if in competitive fighting games you could combo people indefinitely with minimal effort on half the moves. There's no counterplay possible in too many cases, and no easy way to fix it without completely changing the D2 formula. I mean, you could remove WSG and give players a 'dash' movement with a huge stamina % scaling cost that makes you ignore animation interrupting effects briefly, and then you'd open whatever can of worms that brings

You guys just need to chill and stop being overdramatic about it. It's a known Glitch for years that you probably all just got used to. Now you just gotta get used glitch not being around. Don't be afraid for new changes, it would actually be more fun playing without it
there's nothing to get used to about assassins namelock mind blasting people
we had a month a few years ago where the classic games team patched out WSG and dueling games were in an awful place until they patched it back in. We've seen what its like, its terrible
the worst part is that the D2 netcode results in you rubber banding horrendously because the game still doesn't handle the fact you're only moving about 1/3 of the time as you're in hit recovery the other 2/3, so any time you tried to run while under mind blast spam you kept getting desync teleported back a few steps and your screen jittered like a madman while you barely moved at all, it bugged out completely. And that's exactly what we see in D2r when it was tested.
