This was in response to a discussion about making new GM rulesets to accommodate a no WSG D2.
Posting here because it's good discussion:

We could do this, but I'm pretty sure it would eliminate Trapper as a viable build completely.
And then with the problems to Whirlwind, I'm not even sure Ghosts or Spiders could make it without use of Mind Blast.
This problem with WSG is going to destroy the game's intra-class dynamic in immeasurable ways.
I don't think we'll be able to "make new GM rules". The full cause & effect of what's going on here will make this virtually impossible to do.
For example: With no WSG, Any Assassin build using Mind Blast will dominant a Bowazon or anything else for that matter. But if we ban Mind Blast and there are Whirlwind problems, how is an Assassin supposed to handle a Bowazon or any other build?
Assassin as a class will either be highly dominant or not viable at all with the removal of WSG and new GM rules. This is fucked, but it isn't the only thing that's fucked. It's just the easiest biggest glaring example to use.
People also seem to be forgetting that not all stuns come from stun skills. Most of it usually just comes from very large damage, which there will be no way to center GM rules around.
And before anyone brings up "Just use FHR" I want to point out how detrimental that will be to some build structures or classes in general. To be able to have enough FHR on some classes,
it will destroy their viable gear options to be able to achieve absolutely mandatory breakpoints in other areas and have enough life/mana/frw value to even be viable in pvp after they've achieved the FHR required to not insta-die in a raw damage stun lock.
This FHR thing is actually quite counter intuitive because, the more FHR you dip to get in your charm inv, the less life value you have, and the less life value you have, the easier it is to get stunned from raw damage.
If a person was to stop for a moment, take about 15 minutes out of their day, and seriously consider "how" they would design a GM ruleset to accommodate & fix this bullshit currently going on D2r,
they'd realize it won't be realistic to do without creating a massive margin of difference in viability between class to class. This is unfortunately how it will pan out and the game's pvp is going to be as bad or worse as Diablo 3's.
This is no false alarm here boys. Game's fucked in its current state. Get loud in the official forum if you care.
