Fuck eth up rib, fuck thunder maul, fuck grief

Druids have a natural speed increase when wielding an archon staff, base speed is ever faster than a Barb using one.

Druids are the only class that have "Fast" when holding a plain one.

Dbrunski, can you not make a video about Archon Staff druids please.

Let's keep this one to ourselves, ok?

This is against a Target Dummy, so it may vary depending on target HP and crushing blow set up, etc.

Rib is still good but BTOD Archon is gosu. I did add angelic amulet and ring to rib and archon btod simulation to match 95% hit rating that Grief has against Target Dummy. Don't forget about BTOD leach too

Rib:

Fury – Level 20
Fury – Level 20

Damage: 2572–3793
Attack Rate: 26 frames per 5 hits (4.81 hits per second)
Damage per Second: 12,936

Archon BTOD

Fury – Level 20
Damage: 3336–3981
Attack Rate: 24 frames per 5 hits (5.21 hits per second)
Damage per Second: 16,832

Grief

Damage: 2324–2370
Attack Rate: 24 frames per 5 hits (5.21 hits per second)
Damage per Second: 13,918
Attack: 13,918

************

Grief with Pheonix monarch

Fury – Level 20
Damage: 4049–4118
Attack Rate: 24 frames per 5 hits (5.21 hits per second)
Damage per Second: 24,797

Rough math but, grief pb avg dmg is 437.5, 20% deadly = 525, now we add fort + phoenix which after taking into account typical charm setup/jewels, strength, and fury dmg %, fort + phoenix will add roughly 70% more damage, so we end up with 892.5 average damage. Now synergized firestorms were calculated ar around 1.5K dmg per second but they are AoE.

Compare with botd thundermaul for example avg dmg 816.5 now we add Fort about 30% more dmg - 1061, at this point it might look like this will win, but you will have 4 frames, 3 frames with lvl 36 WW (quite high for pve) needs 73 ias… won’t get that unless you drop Fortitude. You also wouldn’t be able to use steelrends in that case, and you don’t get Ignore Target defense nor do you get firestorms.

The difference between 3 and 4 frames will be about 15% more damage on grief PB, 20 vs 23 frame fury. So we add for PB 892.5 x 1.15 = 1026 average damage vs 1061 on Ebotd TM, but you don’t get firestorms, no ITD and attacking faster also has other benefits, more leech and more procs.

I guess taking all in consideration the ebotd TM, comes close, but the firestorms are actually quite nice.

The firestorms being AoE is a significant factor to consider since melee is single target which is not ideal for PvM

Yeah definitely, not to mention attacking at 3 frames, you will proc multiple firestorms at once, each doing aoe damage.
