https://maxroll.gg/d2/d2planner/tv5xof03Wow, I just tried this on single player, I'll have to load up the PTR and see what Terror Zones are like with the new changes. See if I can kill some T5 tz96 heralds.
I guess if I struggle, I could try to use Kelpie snare on the merc, right?
This is huge QOL with Holy Freeze Aura + Redemption. Staying at 100% HP and mana
Looks like
Sundered Fire Immunes = Base 95 Res
-30 wep, -15 helm, -10 chest, -28 Shield, -17 convic = -100 EFR so fire immunes are at -5% is that right?
From what I am remembering about eschutas, is that fire skill% damage only increases the % on top of what fire mastery already does, so it's not that important, right?
Where as fire damage % is probably much more important for fire warlock or driud for example.
I am wondering if this is going to outshine Nova sorc for herald killing and TZ farming
I could use a Kelpie Snare on the merc as well, right?
Oh it easily outshines nova sorc at clearing uniques and heralds and TZ in general, nova is only better at density clearing trash mobs.
Don't imagine kelpie snare as a real option, I mean % slow to single targets is mostly irrelevant here, the one mob that can threaten you is heralds and they come with 15 total monsters so aoe is necessary, conviction is obviously best but if you can't get it, options like insight exist
Using holy freeze aura means you lose about 20% of the value of redemption aura since you'll shatter 20% of corpses. Its a tradeoff you can make if you value it
personally I found the best setup is to put 1 point into frost nova + cold mastery + cold armor (have only 19 hydra at level 99), and you can use frost nova against heralds while not chilling normal mobs or uniques since they die faster if they group faster
You're missing the -10% pierce from a renewed flame rift in your example, the most you can get is that setup with -93% pierce on gear and -17% conviction for -110% total, so yes an immune is put at -15% resist
But that build also has lower base damage
In fact its really easy to just go through the example damage/pierce I listed and say how much they deal to immune vs non-immune mobs. Same order as above of the {2x phoenix} vs {30/30 + phoenix} vs {30/30 + 20/20} and the viper vs ormus tradeoff for higher damage vs pierce/cleansing
Counting each example with the -17% from conviction provided, since that applies to most immunes though it will die to some heralds, and assuming all builds get non-immunes to -100% resist
2x penix + viper : 18234 v immune, 32272 v non
2x penix + ormus : 20098 v immune, 37218 v non
1x penix + viper : 19873 v immune, 34562 v non
1x penix + ormus : 21856 v immune, 39738 v non
10x facet + viper : 19307 v immune, 36088 v non
10x facet + ormus : 21123 v immune, 41418 v non
You can see the damage range here, ~80-100% of max possible damage range depending on setup and target with the tradeoffs for the redemption aura / resists / sorb / cleansing / etc. The 2x phoenix+ormus setup has ~90% of the damage of a glass build but gets 2x redemption/sorb/resists, just not cleansing.
