Did ES really get nerfed that hard?
Use durability
That’s a dmg and QoL loss, more restrictive build
Possibly forcing indestructible weapons if the durability loss is 10x per cast
Perform a hit check
Also a dmg and QoL loss, more restrictive build as you’ll need to include ar
5% synergy is now 3%
Dmg loss
Skill Ed% is now additive instead of multiplicative
Huge dmg loss
No more 2h + shield
Dmg loss, flexibility loss
Demon has 5% ctc amp instead of 75%
But also no more holy fire/shock
That’s also a huge dmg and QoL loss
More skill points needed in demonic mastery (only hard points count for number of demons)
Loosing ~15 total skill
Need 20 hard points in bind demon to be able to bind super uniques, or 15 hard points to bind uniques
That’s starting to be a lot of extra skill points lost elsewhere
Overall this look like ES will be about 10% as good as what it is right now.
Prob still B+ or A tier, but won’t be top 10.
A min/maxed build looks balanced after the nerfs, but it will struggle early instead of being a no brainer pick.
The more accessible sunders is also an indirect nerf. That was the one class that didn’t need a sunder. So the sunder scarcity was making warlocks better.
I’m not complaining at all.
I loved reading every single nerf.
I’ll still play warlock and probably enjoy it more if it finds balance and is more challenging.
But I doubt it will be able to compete with hdin, javazon and sorcs, both early and late.
