An important warning for anyone that cares about the Chronicle - ((OFFLINE ONLY))

Weapon/Armor Racks and Chests were NOT added as sources for items. This means that if you identify a new unique or set item that comes from one of these sources, this results in an invisible error. When this happens, it completely deletes and resets ALL OF YOUR CHRONICLE PROGRESS.

DO NOT identify items from Chests or Racks until this is fixed. I have not confirmed if an already-discovered item triggers this error, but I am not willing to try it.

EDIT: This has apparently been fixed for Online modes. It is NOT fixed for offline (I have first-hand experience today with it not being fixed offline).

this was fixed with a hotfix 2 days ago (only ONLINE though, be careful offline)

oh thanks! I have accidentally id'd multiple today (offline single player) and figured it just persisted and the hotfox was bunk because I am still losing my progress.

This will encourage people to group up to item find. Anything that creates more multiplayer games has to be a Good Thing(tm).

yes they said for offline play they need an actual client patch, for online they could do it with a hotfix somehow
