this is why d2 is the best game, not for the faint-hearted snowflakes of today's modern society. see, d2 is like the "wild wild west" as i like to put it, i.e. there are less enforced social limitations and more freedom. d2 emulates in certain aspects real-life, the animals in us in particular; though, that's not quite true, as animals are not malevolent by-design, what they do are just survival instincts in their nature. anyway, d2 can be even used as a case-study for human psychology and our primal nature. i'd be surprised if nobody yet did a doctoral thesis based on d2. if you're like, say, 13 or basically some (pre)teen age, d2 actually teaches you a lot of valuable lessons of real-life. it teaches you the true colors of humans, you know, when ppl screw you up for their own personal gain - be it "wealth", acquiring higher "social" status, or just for the fun of it - yes, there are bullies that just get hard by deprecating you. there are narcissists, machiavellians, sociopaths and psychopaths everywhere. in real-life most of them are mild and scared, so they hide it - it can be your family member, your friend, your colleague or boss. when you are face-to-face interacting with ppl there's certain self-inflicted boundaries and/or filters (if you are not truly psychopath, that is). but here, in the d2 virtual world, you actually get to see the human's true colors. where "friends" screw you up for wealth, prestige, or just for fun. so, based on your acquired knowledge in d2, you now know better also in real-life what to expect from average ppl. d2 is the best game, it teaches you a lot, it is special and we must preserve it as-is. thus i hate all those modern snowflakes that are way too vocal to make d2 as generic as all the other modern games, e.g. d3 d4 etc with their enforced limitations and social norms. d2 is emulating life as if there were no repercussions, especially with its open hostility and free trade features. so now you get to know better the true face of humanity. no, life is not fair, and there is no such thing as egalitarianism. survival of the fittest
