But I think you are wrong in the assessment that the discovery of duping would be detrimental to the community. It would really only affect the high forum gold users, as their currency becomes worthless. To everyone else (see 95% of users) the sudden influx of items would make endgame gwaring in ladder more accessible.

And again, we have no concrete evidence of duping, just a few people targeting one specific user with trust me bro evidence. No one else has replicated or shown a duping method.

This site as a whole was basically founded on botting and hacking. Remember why Uber Diablo was made to cost so many Sojs?

the issue is all those games were hosted from Cho4/4 , which means he never left that single game.
which most likely means he duped it himself, unless a another duper sold those enigmas to him specifically in that game, which i highly doubt.

He probably bought one for himself, and it poofed, was probably mad for a bit then decided to buy a few of them and try to scam others himself, probably figured he had a solid back story to cover his ass, but come on, aint no one hearing that shit when your name trending on SA with multiple posts, all similar in execution. As far as this is concerned, like you said, Botting/Duping has deep roots in D2, and even if the game has been remastered, im sure duping is still prevalent, as it always has been. The economy only takes a hit when dumb guys who pay for the method do stupid stuff like Chobot here. Kinda ruins it for all the other, carefully scheming dupers.

Nonetheless, from my experiences, my opinion is that duping never went away, people are just doing it smarter to avoid detection, but who knows. All I know for sure is that Chobot got caught and is now thinkin REAL hard how to get himself out of this lol. Should've front-loaded them 300 iq schemes.
