Instead of reading through all those different cases, they can all be described by a single simple sentence:

Anytime enhanced damage is added after, or at the same time as max/min damage, it will glitch out any enhanced damage for that min/max on the non-weapon item.

Easy to remember/understand when you say it this way :)

Edited my post above to add "non-weapon" to be more specific.

Extra note that is not taken into account by this short way of describing the bug:
If the bugged item has ONLY min OR max, plus ed%, then the bug only affects melee attacks, not ranged attacks.
Sadly this unique jewel has both min and max.

edit:
another note
the bug also affects attacks that don't even get bonus from +min/max dmg, like smite or dtalon

I think in summary as it is described in the link abt the bug:

If the item has ed, than the flat min/max dmg works with more ed. I guess thats why it works on weapons (normally they have ed). As the example via clip above, the shield with ed is working fine, but my Gface w/o ed or tiara - they do not.
Sadly the protector jewel has both min/max dmg and ed. So go gain full potential, it needs to go to item with ed (weapon, helm, shield - doesn't matter). Of course weapons normally are the ones with ed.

Cheers all and thank you for the time

If someone trades -10 physical Protector stone, pls lmk

Nope, it's how I described it above:

I think that makes the protector stone quite bugged as it will never fully function.

As explained in the link and topic. However topic was written before the new jewels, but should be the same:

Case 1, item has innate +%ED. You socket with a jewel with +max or +min dmg, or both.
Example: You have a circlet/coronet/tiara/diadem with xx%enhanced damage, or a paladin shield with xx% enhanced damage, and you sock a +15 max dmg jewel.
No bug! Will work as intended.

so when socketed in innate ed item, you get +min max dmg (no ed), and ed will apply as usual to other damage?
