If you don't care about FG at all i'd suggest you do a hardcore offline playthrough with the goal of beating hell Baal on all characters (p8 to make it even more fun). The most fun I ever had with D2R was with a fresh offline hardcore account. Every drop is meaningful and potentially enabling a new build, no lag/disconnect deaths, and you actually use your drops instead of selling them for FG. Death is even more meaningful because of the rarity of drops.

By far the best way I experienced D2R

boots and lld jewelry are about the only rares in classic that can compete with xpac rares

however crushing is very easy to build up fg in the first 2-4 days of reset

Yeah but they drop more often due to a lower pool of items to roll from. From my understanding at least.

Also, if you enjoy playing the game pvm you might as well do single player. Why waste your time getting FG if you could easily buy it with real money? The amount of time it takes to accrue FG, especially late in ladder, is stupid.
