what are you even talking about now. we're not talking about me, we're talking about the game, so come on dude, stop with your nonsense talk.

I was making fun of you, taking this so seriously, value of items going down, you thinking this will destroy this game, you caring about what yt guru's do and people who watch them do. I thought your original post was hilariously sad. That was my point.

I’d be curious to see if someone would be willing to do this and showcase the results. How much gold they could actually acquire and how many items they could gamble in an hour, and what the best results were, etc. would be very interesting to see instead of just talking about the hypotheticals

I can only estimate numbers, but in the video you can see the scale of the problem. He even shows video of someone doing this

Step1) on first account write a script that sells/buys the item over and over and drops gold. Very easy because the UI buttons stay in the same place, anyone can code this in 5 minutes in autoit or any automation framework because there's no RNG

Step2) second account just runs in circles to autopickup gold, then gambles rings and keeps items above a certain threshold configured in your pickit

I'm sure there are much more advanced botters who can come up with something better. A janky setup like this can probably gamble hundreds of rings per minute all day 24/7, which is definitely enough to find good items fast

I sort of agree with you but I still think you're wrong

Rings/amulets/boots/circs are probably the most interesting things to trade for in D2R. Pretty much everything else has become a commodity. For rares you actually have to make a judgement call about value since they're all different

Gambling is boring AF but the real problem is that it's so easy to write a script to instantly gamble millions and find super GG rares in no time

Manually gambling is no big deal
People will bot these items into the ground and ruin perhaps the most interesting trading market left in D2

In that case the problem is still bots lol

you were wrong because I really don't give a f*** about an almost 24-year-old game with new graphics, so it was a missed shot and a provocation. I simply presented the situation objectively... nothing else. gl with trolling elsewhere, cheers :)

I could see it being a problem, there’s just really never been an issue like this over the 20 years of D2lod that I can remember. I’ve never seen anyone on the forums just profiting thousands off of constant GG rares, I’ve seen a few rares pop up for astronomical prices but those were all rumored to be imported. Everything is usually runewords, level jobs, etc. anyone who usually had an INSANE rare ended up paying $$ for them online from a supplier like cfood

Hybrids didn’t break the game, dupe didn’t absolutely break the game, etc. d2 has survived much worse is all I’m trying to say.. the game has thousands of bots running at any second, that’s essentially unlimited gold anyways, they just wouldn’t be gambling nearly as often as someone who dedicated a bot to strictly doing just thar

We'll see, I think this is different because of how easy it is to accomplish. Botting MF routes is actually somewhat difficult (relatively speaking) because you need to be geared, you need to create games, and you need to account for map RNG

This method is absurdly easy because there's no RNG and all you need is a 93+ character (tbh even this is optional)

Infinite gold truely only affects 2 items, rare rings and rare circlets.

Viable rare rings are already common enoguh.

There is always a deficit for rare circlet that are good.

Gold is still relatively useless in the context of all the rare items that are usable, of which 99.9% of them are ethereal. And you cant gamble Eth items.

Cool mechanic that bypasses the need for a gf barb, which is already a boring and tedious tactic. Been here for long time, hasn’t broke anything.

The more and better items there are for pvpers, the more Alive and well the game is.
