I come here every few days trying to see if Blizz has given us a response yet but it appears they've said absolutely nothing, lol

Nothing at all, I wonder if ravens would work lol, it would be hillarious because they are untargettable, but not sure they attack fast enough, the patch notes do mention they attack more often now

Werewolf

Werewolf now only uses the new attack speed calculation that was originally introduced in the PTR
Raised Werewolf attack speed cap from +75% to +150%

Fury

Increased speed between attacks by 40%

Developer Comments: We've debated on the best way to bring shapeshifting Druids forward. After much discussion, we are going to commit to the modern (Balance PTR 1) way of calculating attack speed for the wereforms. We have rebalanced the werewolf to allow that form to reach even faster speeds than it could previously. As for werebear - we want to deliver on the fantasy of a powerful, unstoppable, killing machine. We've introduced uninterruptible attacks and skills, as well as increased damage and defense. While this will change the way players have played the Werebear in the past, we feel like it is more in line with the intended fantasy. For players who loved their fast werebear builds, we’ve added attack speed bonuses to Maul, but we also hope the new Werewolf changes will offer them the same style of play, as it is now the faster form.

Let me know if anyone tests this.

Actually don't we have prior testing with a higher cap from beginning of 2.3? The 150% ias I am referring to, and does the in between attacks for fury mean frame to frame or running a la feral rage?

Either way I'm excited because this sounds like a fix for the ias

I hope so too, I am just nervous that they are using the new PTR shapeshift frame calculations which were horrendous.

I think it is using those awful frames, BUT, with cap being removed at 75% and increased to 150%, and if fury is 40% faster each frame, it could feel incredible. I also think that the 150% cap would allow IAS from off weapon sources to count?

https://diablo2.diablowiki.net/Breakpoints

i am trying to understand the ptr notes related to druid ias. looking at the linkedbreakpoints, the werewolf druid has 4fp at 86ias (typically achieved with tomb reaver + ias)

they have now removed the cap of 75% ias and increased it to 150%.

So what exactly does that mean?

Does it mean that say I use the stormlash (+30% ias), that paired with say, level 10 werewolf @ +57ias) - that will now achieve 87ias thus reaching the 4fp attack speed? I dont entirely understand it but I am hoping this increases viability of weapons across the board.

_________________________________________________________________

From the notes:

Raised Werewolf attack speed cap from +75% to +150%

Increased speed between attacks by 40%

Does this mean that each frame on fury will be 40% faster? I.e., 6/6/6/6/10-> (40% faster) -= 3.6/3.6/3.6/3.6/6?

Does this mean that the cap being raised will allow more off-weapon IAS to actually matter at faster weapon speeds? I know there is a calculation but I am not mathed enough to do it. Will this lead to more weapons actually being viable?

edit: I should also add this note, which seems to lend credence that it's a buff:

We have rebalanced the werewolf to allow that form to reach even faster speeds than it could previously.
