honestly I think a big part of this is no one practices escaping without wsg for the last 15 years, so people are worse at it if they are forced to not have wsg. because they are so used to this mechanic now.

d2 was d2 before wsg, it will be d2 post wsg if its taken away.


good that wsg desync is gone tho.
fuck that shit that prevents you from clicking on someone with anything melee because they are wsg desyncing around.

Yeah, I mean we're going to play regardless and adapt. The point we're trying to convey, is the game is more fun and competitive. I can l8z around the moor c/ting and never being on an assassins screen. But this ruins TPK / FPK and any 1v1 matchup with a sin. The fact of the matter is, at the higher levels of play, sins today's especially fpk players are much better and will be inescapable if you get MB'd.

It's possible, a lot of my chars had Fizzle in the name but I don't remember them all. using "teh" in place of "the" sounds like something I would have done as a cringy 19 year old though. :lol:

Im not sure if I agree with it ruining things.

fpk and 1v1 vs sins existed before people knew to wsg and people were fine with it.

people keep saying trap players are better now and its harder to escape their locks than players back then.. but idk how much I agree with that personally.
besides learning to c/t (which may or may not be as relevant in d2r with 16:9 screenspace) and learing to use wsg, how exactly did they get better?

people had beastly namelocks back then.
I think people are forgetting the gods of old with how well they played given that they didn't use c/t and wsg.

hum, well I teamed with a druid by that name if you remember dueling with a kicksin player on east back in the day.

Every tactic vs trapsin is "stay away from traps, stay far away."
Very defensive and outdated as of late.

Btw: I built on your kicksin guide many times in 1.10 and 1.11, was one of my most played characters back then. Most fun caster killer imo.

Yeah.. frankly I never even used WSG. I didn't know it was even a thing for the longest time back when I had my ESFB sorc Fizzle on USEast NL. I still won a vast majority of my duels and stunlock was almost never an issue. I did kind of have a super GG perf geared sorc that I ended up selling for like 15k when I decided to uninstall though, so gear alone carried my mediocre butt 90% of the way. :lol:

no, charge desync still works, get hit from a screen away with charge.
can't confirm hammer desync, but heard from others it still exists. didnt have a hammerdin opponent show me tho.

wsg desync is entirely gone tho.
macro 20x wsg per second, and it will not desync.

We can argue about the calibre of players, but its a rather useless argument. I will not deny that there were very good players in the past with great namelocks. The point being made is that you have 1. a game with wsg which allows for a dynamic, reactive and proactive gameplay. Vs. 2. a game without WSG, which is simply a defensive, run away playstyle and avoid getting mb'd playstyle. One is way more competitive and fun, the other isn't.
