When i first opened this thread I thought you were exaggerating or trolling, then I went and looked at the pictures and holy crap, OP is right.

I am surprised you focused on the Amazon and Barb because in my opinion, the worst one is the Assassin

Yet, if this is true, why did they change the assassin to an Asian? It's obvious if you look at D2, the assassin was a white girl. A goth chick.

So if they are so focused on accuracy why would they change this? Obvious to me, some executive told them "There's too much white characters. Make one an Asian also make the Paladin a lot more black"
On top of that, they make her ugly as sin.
Is this the kind of "inclusivity" asians want? "Hey, give us a butt ugly asian character!" I don't think so. They could have at least made her attractive.

Why though? They shouldn’t look attractive at all in my opinion for a few reasons.

1. They’re literally fighting Diablo. You’re supposed to look a bit rugged/rough around the edges.
2. How much time will anyone be actually looking at the character faces?
3. Asking for pixelated characters to be considered “attractive” is just weird. Go outside and talk to a girl.

because people want the characters to look good, why does being a rugged fighter mean you gotta be ugly?
I want the Barb to look more muscular, he should look like a roided out beast. Doesn't mean I am gay and want to jerk off to him.
Also the Paladin seems to have gotten fatter, the characters over all just look worse

People want to play as good looking characters. for example i play WoW Classic. Look at female human characters. There are various faces to choose from, including a number of ugly female faces, but nobody ever picks them. everyone picks the cute faces


Im not saying they need to look like supermodels. Look at D2, the assassin was not ugly, she was good looking but not some bombshell. Look at Diablo 3, the female characters don't look like men.

Everyone seems to be missing the OP's point.

It's not about how they look now. It's about how they CHANGED them to look the way they do in accordance with todays society.

The OP's originals post stated if it were to be a brand new game he would understand. The fact that they made an effort to change them to what they are is the frustrating issue.

All I saw was a rejuvenated game to be excited about since it will give me a shot of that good old nostalgic feeling. A character modle might be a bit ugly but shit once it's covered in armour I won't notice anyways except the portriate and I knew if enough people found it ugly they would likley change it anyways.

The same could be said about the people that are hell bent to change them cuz 2021...
