1-26 is what takes a while. Double swing and its mana cost is a big help here. After you hit 27, roll an insight for merc and an honor naga or equivalent and you can start throwing out the more dps heavy skills, at first conc, and then berserk and whirlwind. Some mana leech helps a lot here, as does maek. Manalds are useful as is angelic set as it returns mana fairly fast on a barb fighting up close and personal. I always used charsi tier javelins for a1-a2/3, and switch to melee from a3-5.
