insight makes me forget about:
damage - it has like 95% dps as the top one
critic - freeing my amulet and boots slot
fcr -with 35 alone it's like a spirit weapon
price - paid 60fg for mine
mana - i don't even have mana post in belt for teleing
23 mf because who doesn't even need mf

This beast right here beats ANYTHING.

In the current state of the game, if we're talking about end game

TOP
insight, ondals, obsession

"OK"
fort, wiz, SB, spirit, hoto

Noob lvl
death, botd, doom, ariocs

With the right gear, you can 1-hit kill any p8 mob with your starting dagger.
All you need from your weapon slot is:
FCR, sustain, survivability, utility/QoL
And yet, people keep investing in expensive overkill dmg options that gives them none of what they need.

/edit:
Now... I said, in the current state of the game.
The no hit check is a known bug.
It is very likely that they will fix this in next patch.
This will make the top option, insight, even better as it comes with a high ar% bonus.
This is also probably gonna make all those popular/noob lvl options obsolete, as performing a hit check will most likely use durability.
So all those eth, non indestructible, non self-rep options have high chances to be burried with this current patch.
I don't know the future, but this is my best guess.

I assume that Noob lvl has some more value when fighting Ubers or colossals maybe?

I have been using Death on Ladder an EBOTD off ladder. I really like Death and think it's underrated.

I'm doing ssf. Hoping to make a death once i find a vex. is a eth decapitator still the best base for warlock?

yeah some day 1 theorycrafting is certainly different than when you are an experienced user.

Also, not changing our mind is synonym of stupidity.
Evolution my friend... everyone should try it :)

Not a big different in terms of dps.
Gigantic difference in terms of survivability as instead of unlocking all the gear options you need elsewhere, you are stuck fixing the consequences of trying to get more flat dmg from your poor weapon choice.

But all of it doesn't matter much as of right now.
You can do ubers with a naked warlock using his starting dagger and mana pots, letting his demon tank and attack with enough range to avoid all dmg.
Not possible offline because of how regen works differently, but online, due to the returning echo blades, even at 0fcr you can neglect all regen.

The shiver armor can be problematic if you can't position your demon correctly, as you trigger up to 10 ice bolts per cast.
And since echo does not apply CB%, an easy fix is to just use mirrored blades (you can even get up to 26% CB when consuming goatman).

Anyway... for the purpose of stacking res and being able to just rambo down the ubers without having to prep and think about anything, I'd just use obsession.

Hey,

I know you have answered a lot of my questions, silly or not. I was playing online ladder for a while, but now have transitioned to ssf on xbox. have a lvl 87 warlock now. could you explain the differences or point me to a source of regen offline v online? legit haven't heard about this.

Offline, mobs regen life each frame they are not dealt dmg.
Online, their regen is stopped for 8 frames.

Same thing goes with psn dmg.
Online, any dmg stops all psn dmg for 8 frames.

This is making builds like psn nova barely playable online, unless you adapt with that in mind.
And it's also why so many people still believe you need OW for ubers.
Just a popular myth that comes from offline tests.

/edit:
what I said above is pretty much all you need to know already, but if you want the long read:
