I’m also bummed that I didn’t see certain things like fixes to the game list, improvements to the lobby, fix for the chat bugs. These things add up to a better multiplayer experience… right now it’s an online single player game most of the time

fixing the lobby should have been priority #1

the lobby and all forms of messaging between players is a total joke

I'll give them a pass since it's just the first ladder and they did say they would consistently trickle in new runewords EVERY season.

The meta might also shift reliance on said runewords via character balance changes so I'm open to a learning experience the first season rather than a complete overhaul.

There's a lot of hardcore d2 fans that want nothing to do with those mods though.

You have to find a balance to keep a majority of legacy lovers happy and a majority of people wanting change to be happy.

Tough balance.

I was a hardcore d2 fan and didn’t want anything to do with a mod, until a Friend convinced me to try pd2 and to be honest it was a fucking blast.

i agree the first patch is a good step and its nice to have these more rws, the benefit here is mostly for single player or playing solo which is popular so can't hate

I'm curious about the set item changes, for example, per the patch notes:

Vidala's Rig
Added 7% Mana Stolen Per Hit (2 Items)
Changed Adds 15-20 Cold Damage to +1-148 to Maximum Cold Damage (+1.5 Per Character Level) (Full Set)

I'm having trouble quantifying what +148 Maximum Cold Damage would do? They say in the Developer Comments:
Developer Comments: Many improvements have been made to Set items that are generally underused by players. These will offer more reasons to equip multiple of these Set pieces and to give some Sets new capabilities to make them stand out more, which further fuels more build diversity.
We felt that players enjoy the current Horadric Cube recipes for upgrading Unique items, so we decided to offer the same capability for upgrading Set items. This can add more possibilities by using lower-level Set items for more character builds.

I like the direction that they are going in making the lower level set's more viable through upgrading them to elite versions via the cube, but it still doesn't feel like enough to me. Even a FULLY Upgraded Vidala's set with all elite items seem's that it would still not be viable..

ALSO, a question, are there going to be 2 Versions of each of these set items when Ladder merges to Non-Ladder? You could potentially have players running around with pre- 2.4 Vidala's Set's that don't get the added buff's of post 2.4 patch Vidala's sets? I can't see how they will implement this, it almost makes me wonder if the
set bonuses will change on both ladder and non-ladder when 2.4 is released....
