Yesterday after maintenance I was prepping for selling 3 test sojs. That never happened, since that stream came up of that US group, I was following the whole thing closely.
So things we know for 100% and what we learned:
- The microsoft tool they are using is giving the same result as our filtered netstat command, I can confirm this 100%. So no need to install any programs for DClone hunting, just use powershell!
- I even joined their discord just to see whats goin on there.. they were going for 100% match on IP when hunting.
- I can also confirm, that IP is 100% Google middleman IP, not actual game IP.
- Now we know for a fact its not a region event, I was in a hell game on Asia when they triggered the walk. Its gameserver specific.
- When they made their hot IP public, they confirmed on stream that you dont need exact match to land on the correct server. This again confirms the middleman IP.
- They were kinda smart about ASIA and the timing of the event. You might think its kinda luck based at this point to find the proper game server, unless you find an empty region. In D2 I took part in at least 50+ private events. Hot IP gets harder to find when more people are searching. Its load balanced. Bnet will connect you to a stress free server. If a server gets close to full, you land on a new one.

In a nutshell if anyone wants to do a stress free walk, you have to do it on ASIA at around 4AM CET. Past bedtime for a lot of americans, past bedtime in EU even for geeks, for the Asian region its waay to early to have crowd in there (for example, Shenzen 10am)!
This way because of almost no load at all, 99% could get in on the same server (counting with 125 players)

Things to do before we can actually make our own PWE:
- need to find a mediator. posted in prev. update about this
- do 1 final test with soj sell on asia, with at least 30 testers at around 3-4AM CET

What do you mean by don't need exact match of game ip? Is it just last few digits that need to match?

If my theory is correct, its more about timing rather than matching IP. Gonna test both. Will be testing tonight for this to confirm. I will need about 20+ ppl on discord voice at 1am CET tonight.

so why they were spamming the stream after they started selling, that you dont need a match, just watch soj msg ingame? even the streamer said this like 20 times. rewatch the vod

im gonna test it tonight to make 100% sure. will test both ways.
when my event will go live, there will be no "what if"s, has to know for certain.

you didn't need to check for the ip after they started selling every 30 seconds because you could see the message if you were on the right server, but you still needed to be on that server
