The pathing is completely predictable
Only possible change would be to make initial nado position line up better with the direction you are facing but this is also predictable if you have cast the spell before

It is a thematic design choice
Tornadoes are unpredictable. The skill is supposed to look unpredictable

So yes it is not really a fix and improvement is not really needed
I do not think there is incentive to improve one of the best builds in the game
