So am I using a resist all aura instead of fana then? And kiras instead of gface. just gore/duress for CB

no

you need more cb, phys dmg res, light absorb, cold absorb

all inventory all res

could use an um shaftstop i guess for DR

How does res save me from whirl? Should I use storm shield?

Smiter. Just find 4socket elite shield and put 4 diamonds.
Life tap wand
Duress, pre buff with treachery optional
Super budget black flail
Raven frost
And stack as many resist charms
