Once my inv is full of charms and my only way to pickup something is through cube, I dont vendor.
Prior to this, I'll vendor items I know to be worthwhile, since it means I am still in early ladder mode and haven't got a lot of gold yet.

Once I get to the point where the chars I play are "full stuff" or almost, I just play cube and my gold source becomes only when walking over gold.
With some chancies and a gheeds it actually builds up fast especially if you don't skip champs and take the 0.1s it takes to get the gold from em until you telestomp to another elite pack.
