Yes. I don't quite get why the game does this, and I only learned it recently, but two weapons with the same speed (and I'm not being a complete novice and thinking the text in the game matters, I mean actual speed as you've referenced, e.g. -10) don't actually have the same speed if they're different weapon types. Warlock seems to be a really extreme example of this, where a sword and polearm with the same speed have vastly different frames.

Your questions about bind demon are also apt - I don't know how it's going to work out exactly. I actually think that part of this bulid's difficulty is that it requires so *many* skill points. You listed Bane as a sort of nice-to-have, but I consider it mandatory. Not only does it synergize Purge, it is useful for single target damage, i.e. boss/uber/herald, because Purge does nothing there.

I kinda knew about this, same with fury druids etc. But I didn’t think it is THAT extreme. Gonna have some time tomorrow and will test death / botd swords for sure ! If death gets any decent frames it will be bis. Thanks for the reminder!

Disagree on bane since you have mirrored blades . I just used bane to get more synergy points for purge. Remember that mirrored blades is maxed as a cleave synergy. For single target just use this instead of cleave and it MELTS any boss like butter .

Aoe portion: cleave , purge, eld blast
Single target: mirrored blades

With maxed mirrored blades your single target damage is insane.

So loosing leftover points in bane just makes your hex purge Deal a little less magic damage . It is definitly not needed for single target.
If death is actualy viable , mirrored blades will be even more insane with the added crushing blow.
But my grief build already killed any boss in seconds using it.

If you can get an amp demon and keep a pride on merc I‘m pretty sure that will deal more damage overall than some more synergy points for hex purge. Can’t wait for patch to test all this :D

I played cleave a bunch on live, and I still think eth Death Colossus Sword is the best. You can get to 11 frame attacks, it has huge ed, crushing blow, deadly strike, and attack rating. I don't know what frames you get to with phase blade, but I highly encourage you to try this because I don't think a few faster frames makes up for the rest.

Edit: I just checked planner (which has been correct on the weird cleave attack frames to my knowledge), and grief is only one frame faster with ~4000 less dps than eDeath CS.

Update on swords: went to editor again and tested swords:

Made a death and botd in colossus blade since it is the faster of the two bases.

Actualy hit better frames than on polearms, you are correct!

Both were slower than grief. Since I don’t know the exact breakpoints, I’m not sure wich exact frames. With the exact same gear as my grief build, Botd was faster than death by a frame pretty sure, both slower than grief, but not by that much.

When I switched to Horazon gloves/boots + Nosferatu belt with ias jewel in helm + book I even got one more frame on the botd version! This actualy came realy close to grief. Very very promising.

Gonna test some more after work! Maybe add fana to see where both weapons end then. Swords seem indeed faster than polearms/axes and the big ones aren’t that far of grief speed. Nice
