Had one of the most godly paladin grim shield in d2 classic HC long time ago. Accidentally used wrong cube recipe on it and re-rolled the stats instead of adding a socket. Worst mistake of my d2 career that i cannot forget and its been like 20 years.

My blunder was more so on here
Than in game..
I got scammed for thousands of fg.


Back in 2021 when I started d2jsp.
I made the rookie mistake
Believing if the other person i traded with had lots of fg
It would safe for me to give item first...
I thought for sure
that if i had hard proof (like video etc)
and reported a jsp scammer immediately
while he still had all the fg
that for sure It would get locked
Justice would be served and i would get what I was owed.

(I Gave item first worth like 3.5k fg
to guy who had like 5k fg he grabbed item and then left...
Never sent fg
He had like 5k fg i should have been good right?
They would lock it and id get paid
right?



The hard truth:
I learned that day people can make burner accounts let them age a little bit and then casually get away with fraud.
I suspect he gave fg to his friend who was in on it
or an alt account and laundered it...
Because immediately after...
I mean like right away....
Right after he left game and I frantically made scammer accusations
All the thousands of fg instantly dissapeared from his account
Sus right?
That it all conveniently disappeared so fast...
I Made the scammer accusations
They looked into it and basically
Result was
Sorry because he gave the fg to someone else
He was involved i trade with a 3rd party...
They marked his account
And I was out an item worth like 3.5k
And never got any of the fg

And thats the story of how I learned the hard way.
Use a meditation on big trades
Because it doesnt matter how much fg the other person has
All they have to do is give it to someone else right away
And your cooked

Not knowing when blizz changed length of time for keeping accounts alive on legacy.

When I was 12, a guy sent me a link to download the maphack — but it contained a drop script that opened my inventory and started dropping every time as he stood next to me and snagged everything.

Now that I remember, when I was 11 a friend bought me a birthday gift of some plain pcombs and other shit that was nice to have and useful in the early 2000s and I decided to xfer it in one of those public "mule park games" far outside in the blood moor. Someone found the items before I got back lmao.

found a Maras back in 2000 at a pc cafe, the owner who was playing with me gave me a bunch of trash for it including a SwordGuard. I had no idea how much it was worth back then. I never forgave him for that.

bought a shako for a vex rune

checked guides afterwards, the item I was looking for was named harlequin crest...
