You start out as fire warlock
His level 6 fire spells is just a ring of fire balls that's better than sorc lol
Then once you get to act 4 night mare you switch to echoing strike using the biggest weapon u can find
Late nm and early hell you'll find an ethereal colossal bulge and once you get it 4 socket u make insight and youre damage will be good enough to clear p8 even with literally no other gears
This has been document and even euros have done it successfully

yes, you equip it.

a warlock can wield 2handers and a shield
and with echoing strike, you "cast" your attack, so it can also be ethereal and take no durability loss.

so insight in an ethereal elite base is a great starter weapon.
