What the tourists don't realize is that pvp is the reason why so many items have any value at all. If it dies, or the game strays too much from what made it good, there will be no one left around who cares about buying their pvm finds.

While I agree that the big ticket items are because of pvp, you’re foolish to believe pvm finds would suffer much if pvp didn’t exist.

PvP community ain’t buying my shakos at ladder reset.

Yeah, tens of thousands of fg selling sunders this season. An item completely useless in pvp.

Not to mention all of the gear those chars are wearing to pvm with.

PVP props up "trophy rares" to massive amounts of value. But honestly, the pvm kit is mostly unaffected by this, and the overwhelming majority of people purchasing the cookie cutter pvm gear are strictly doing it to pvm.

PvP is by far the most entertaining thing about Diablo 2
It always has been

Hunting warlocks is really really fun
Whenever I see one farming an area by himself I hostile and go kill it

What build to hunt?

I was a PvP primary player from 2006-2014. Just came back for D2r and the lack of PvP is making the game boring quickly. I just wanna make an 18 lld throwbarb but nobody llding anymore.

Best part about d2r is the pvp although it is not at the level at d2lod but close enough. Now it's pretty screwed up with the new items/charms/class in rotw.

If you polled the entire population of people pvming in rotw ladder. How many of them do you think are pvming only to find trophy rares and perfects for pvp?

I would argue the vast majority of people don't even pick up and id most of the items required to even find them. Which is fine, because you wouldn't tell someone who didn't buy a lottery ticket that they would have won if they did.

Pvp is fun. But it clear that most (rounded up to basically everyone) just like to make a char, get some levels and mf some gear before quitting again.

If you play d2r for pvp, and exclusively pvm to find gear for said pvp. That's excellent. I hope you're having fun. But it's obviously a small minority of players who do so. Most people are just chilling playing the game, and not even thinking about pvp at all.

To complete Chronicle, duh

I would bet you any amount of money there are more people seriously progressing the chronicle than exclusively hunting for pvp gear. By a wide wide margin.

Are the new renewed sunders actually useless in pvp? I thought the %skill damage, -res, and other buffs actually apply to pvp as well as pvm. Is that wrong?

They seem like they would be solid. But i'm talking about lod sunders. Literally tens of thousands of fg sales this season, and cannot be upgraded. Purely pvm.

Pvp is great. Finding godly pvp items is freaking awesome.

But trying to convince yourself or anyone else that it's the foundation of the ladder economies is..... I don't want to say anything mean.
