08 valk was never as good as it was unobtainable. Lets face it, fhr barely matters, frw has a very marginal effect. Having 5% more fcr than griffs only matters in a few rather niche setups, because in most setups you either reach a breakpoint with either, or neither, how many are enabled by that 5% extra max fcr slot? Trappers who want to go 102 or 174 can use griffs either way, it doesn't even open up a ring slot. And before % skill worked on traps, it was still +1 skills which did work, and fhr was pretty useless when WSG existed, and the one thing valk really had going for it- its ias applied to trap laying speed- was still mostly redundant when people figured out how to autoWSM glitch claws so they could wsg and keep wsm glitch and then what, what would 08 valk really add over griffs, some frw and fhr that both have negligible effects? I'd rather have the minor +1 skills to trap/mb/shadow/venom/etc. Of course, all that also got thrown out the window with D2r and the wsg / trap remakes
Was primarily for getting 63 ias without needing ias jewels, thus giving you more rep and 86fhr instead of 48fhr without sacrificing any life.
08 valk > griff in lod
In d2unmastered, griff better.
But that’s what you get in d2unmastered, a dumbed down version of a game that defined a genre
