I once had a barb that had a funny full gear swap vs other melees stacking dr% and neglecting their res

2x doom and inv full of cold dmg and a few cold facets
6k cold dmg per hit with like -140% res

The only other exemple it could be worth going for elemental dmg is on a tesladin or dragon build (going for a different element is nice cuz they also benefit from conv but bring more diversity so harder to sorb)

Probably the most expensive one is the best

Isnt light dmg better? I mean people think u do physical ww dmg and they dont put light resi on.

3/20/20 has more universal use...but a 20 life fire DMG SC will attract melee duelers. You can walk so many people when hiding fire DMG in your inventory.

Same thing with other elements, but playing doom makes sens for the holy freeze aura vs some melee matchups, so why not get cold dmg if you already have -120% cold res just from dual doomz?

Its really situational, but with the right gear you can reach about the same cold dmg per hit that you’d do if full physical. So if opponent use 50%dr and low res (even 75 unstacked res) my build would put them at negative res.
So 6k phys (1k pvp) /50%dr = 500 dmg per hit
6k cold (1k pvp) / (75res - 140 = -65%) = 1.65k dmg per hit
Even after 40% reduction from raven its still 0.99k (2x more than the full physical build)

The only relevant ones are 3/20/20 and 36 ar/20

Elemental damage is bad and min is incredibly laughable

Raven is absorb… so 40% absorb means 80% reduction because the first 40% counted as a heal
