It works like a Gheeds. If you have a gheeds in your inventory or personal stash, you can't pick up another one. Move it to your shared, and you can.

If you have a renewed sunder in your inventory or personal stash, you can't pick up another RENEWED one, but can pick up latents. Easy way to guarantee if a unid grand charm is a sunder or not - keep a gheeds in your inventory and you won't be able to pick it up if it's a gheeds, but will if it's a latent sunder.

Source: I have picked up many latent sunders in game while having a renewed sunder and gheeds in my inventory.
