Hello,
I recently got back into the game in SC No Ladder DLC, and I started by trading the items I had accumulated when I first began playing D2R. To my surprise, one item earned me 4 Jah, 1 Lo, and 1 Sur! For my level, I feel like I’ve become rich!!!
However, I could use some help figuring out how to use them properly and invest in the right gear.
My goal would be to have fairly versatile items for spellcasters.
Right now, my gear is basically my sorceress with a Shako, ViperMage, 2x Spirit, a sorceress torch that someone kindly gave me, and recently an Insight on an Eth CV, Tal Rasha as a helmet. I also have an Occulus.
So yeah, nothing high-end.
I was thinking of going for an Enigma, HOTO, CTA, and Fortitude. I’m undecided on which character to gear, and I’d still like to try a Warlock, which looks really strong and can handle Hell with Echo Strike even without a specific high-damage weapon. Otherwise, maybe a lightning sorceress or a Hammer paladin.
I’m not sure if I can also afford an Arachnid belt, an SOJ, another unique ring, or a Mara to complete the setup.
So I’m reaching out to you for help building, for the first time, a higher-tier setup. What would you recommend?
Could easily sell some of those runes and get enough FG to buy all the gear you want for it. 3 Jahs would get you enough to buy a Ber, Ohm, Ist, Mal and Cham to make Enigma, CTA, and Pride out of, and still have more than enough left over to get Arachs, BK rings and Maras. (recommend BK rings over SoJ for ES Warlock for the life leach)
Eth CV Insight is a perfect weapon for ES Warlock btw. Just reroll it to get +6 Critical Strike and it's a great weapon.
Pride, Duress and Tals helm on your merc works great. Obedience is a good substitute if you don't want to make a Pride as well.
Throw on Mages/Trangs gloves, Spirit Monarch and swap Shako for Hellwarden to hit 125% FCR, and it would be set up great. The only thing you'd need from there is an Anni, which are very cheap on NL, and a warlock torch, which you could just farm keys and kill ubers until you farm one yourself.
