Let me say this first, I'm not gonna lie I'm a bit salty.

But over the last week I noticed a troubling pattern when it comes to specificly Guardian's Thunder jewels in the RotW, in particular 10/10 jewels.

It basically always goes like this:

- the item gets listed
- some offers come in
- then the seller sets and absurdly high bin
- some more offers tickle in (way below bin)
- then out of nowhere the seller claims the item has been sold (for the bin or something crazy like a 3/20/20)

The problem?
There NEVER is any public offer anywhere near the price the seller claims to have sold them item for.
We are talking not even 1/3 of the claimed price.
And most of the time the fg amount of the seller also doesn't change in the way it should to back their claim.

My suspicion is that there are people in the background who sell or fake-sell those items to each other trying to create the impression that they are worth much more than they are in the hopes of eventually finding a dumb person who actually pays that much.
I know there are other places to trade and the item could have been sold there.
But when you see the exact same jewel with 5 variable stats that are 100% identical being listed 3 times at once you have to wonder about that legitimity too.

Anyone notices the same thing?
Or am I just too salty right now?

yeah that was the latest example that also got listed here.
I actually was the high bidder here on jsp.
jewel was sitting at a 2500fg offer for a while than that guy retracted and there was no more action higher than my 2100fg.
i've seen other ones with higher offers (around 4000fg) mainly due to higher XP but pretty much none of the jewels actually get sold here and no actual offer came close the bins which are typically 9-10k.

the price difference between actual offers here on the claimed sales prices in other places is just too big to be true, no?

yep that's a perfect examply of what I mean.
the public offers do not match the bin / claimed sale in the slightest.

i know that
the site also dominated by asian re-sellers.
but typically even on the high end items the price difference between there and here is not THAT big.
we are bascially talking twice to tripple the price in this case.
i'm just worried they sell / fake-sell those items to each other to prop up prices and pray on unsuspection players.
i refuse to believe that this item is actually worth as much as those claimed sailes make it appear.

but maybe i'm wrong?

well what is the real value of a 10/10 guardian thunder jewel?

is it 2000, 4000, 8000, or 16000 fg? the market sets the price

if people are willing to pay 8000 fg for one then it'll go at 8000,

a lot of people might find 8000 to be "too pricey" however it's what some people are willing to pay for it

if you evaluate the cost to get the 5 statues for a unid ancients jewel, (estimated to be 500 fg) then the 8000 fgs price isn't that high for the probability to roll it. (to roll a 10/10 jewel, it's 1/36 chance) so 36*500 =18,000 however, low rolls still have value to be resold, so a 10/10 should be valued lower, and 8000 seems about the right price rn

I don't think anything suspicious is going on here, what's the purpose of "faking" these sales? you could easily sell "fake" 32020s if the goal is to do the same fg transfer

im not saying it right, but this is nothing new.

unfortunately d2jsp is susceptible to shady tactics. when the market is hot, people risk getting burned.
