He was always the easiest one in D2r. now in ROTW i've fought him twice and he owns me. The last run he killed me probably 20 times almost all one shots. My A5 merc has last wish and life tap never happened the entire run. I hardly had any minions to even deal with it was just Baal crushing me. Meph and Diablo did almost nothing to me. Baal was always the pushover. Any tips for beating him?

are you echo? baal has chilling armor (if so put your demon between you and the boss to take the missiles)

I have not tried, but just wondering how it can be that deadly when lvl 60 chilling armor only does like 400+ damage. Unless it has some innert high level cold mastery or couple with meph's conviction etc

each echo is up to 10 hits

Merc is probably struggling to hit bosses. Remember ITD from last wish doesn't work on bosses, and if you say there were few minions he might just be swinging at air, especially if he's not high level (ubers are like monster level 110? and level difference lowers chance to hit). Could try to enchant him with demonlimb. Could get an alt source for life tap.

I'm running into the same issue but I'm not seeing it when it happens. It is like there is a reflect damage that nukes me all of a sudden.
