Yea, its not necessary anymore. But you can if you want.

With new damage, you will die on the 4 spears regardless. So most people opt to max their damage in the hopes that their opponent doesn't have enough life and dies to 3rd hit.

Azn masta pretty much summing it up right. However if you don't need the 20fcr from trang glove I'd use bloodfists for that 40life, the more life and dmg the marrier, also make sure you know how to use your necro that's key, if u dunno how to play necro not even expensive gear will help u
