I think the referee rule needs clarification. Ever since patch 1.10 we’ve used Howl barbs or Smite or Shockwave to freeze oak sage in place by request to keep it from interfering in the duel. Not every duel used them, but it was always preferred by both parties if someone was available to howl or shockwave.
If we go forward without it even “for a season” what is written is inadequate as it doesn’t really punish intentional targeting of oak sage in the duel. We need to flesh out what manipulating the oak sage looks like and if it means auto loss if someone does it.
So before I vote, I propose a quick amendment to this section:
“Shockwave Refs for oak sage will not be utilized. Part of being a fury druid means there will always be some aspect of RNG with Oak Sages. We can try this out for one season and see how it goes. There will be no purposeful manipulation of Oak Sages to try and get them to fly into the middle of the duel so that an opponent can kill it on purpose.
Purposeful manipulation of Oak Sages includes starting the duel anywhere except a corner section of the Inner Cloister border, and/or forcing a Druid to walk more than 2 tile segments* to reach their opponent. Violations are considered intentional manipulation of Oak Sage and force a restart.”
This is two tile segments (you can see the lines clearly on the floor):
