Hello folks. I am making an es mb light sorc and wondering what the consensus is on faster block rate. I will be using whitstans shield which has 40fbr. Socketing with a shael adds 20fbr to reach the 48fbr breakpoint for sorcs.

Does fbr play a significant role? Is it worth using the shael for an extra frame or should i just the socket for stats/resists.

Curious if anyone has put any thought towards this.

i dont think you will get a reasonable answer. ultimately there are next to no light sorcs in pvp right now. i would say just trial and error it, see for yourself what works best for your playstyle.

Is there a reason there are no light sorc? Sounds like fb got needed with the new patch

As it stands currently Sorc's are not considered SSS Tier builds, and to my mind Light Sorc's were ever regarded as the weakest of the 3 elements for PvP. This to my mind is based on range of attack (ESFB can offscreen, as can Blizz, light sorc can not). Sorc in general got no major boost other then what every other class got re: FHR. Hydra's are a novelty but not game changing. Nova in PvP, no. Yes not sharing cooldowns is nice but again no big deal.

if you want a comparison - a V/T of hammerdin can Foh/Smite or Hammer/Smite. A smiter can only smite. in this way the smiter is at a natural disadvantage in that it has to trade damage/get close. I would treat a light sorc im a similar fashion.

Cool, thanks for the feedback. Looking to try it out in a 4v4 setting. If it sucks, the pieces are easy to sell.

What an utter waste of overall life mana and damage. Don't get hit and go pure es.
