I see a lot of GM rules preventing more than 20mdr on ES sorcs. I recall BM immortal sorcs being a thing, but can someone be so good as to explain to me how that works? The interaction between dr/mdr/es/telek.

I tried googling briefly but I didn't see any post or wiki explaining it. Thanks in advance ♥

Use Case 1:

95% es Sorc

1). You take a 6k dmg iga hit so after the 1/6 penalty that is 1,000 damage to you.
2). Now you are going to absorb 95% of that hit meaning you are now taking 50 damage.
3). Let's say you have shako on for 10% dr. You now take 45 damage
4). However let's say you have a Sol in your helm. Now you take 43 dmg

Think I got the order right but it has been forever. ES mitigation first then comes % DR and flat DR. Meaning with higher ES there is a point where flat MDR and DR become very very good at damage mitigation.

The role of TK is to decrease the amount of mana ES drains when you get hit. It only works off base points and 16 TK = 1:1 ratio but most ES Sorcs max it.

I remember reading that mdr and dr are applied BEFORE pvp reduction, resists, and dr%.
So in your case it would be 6000 -> 5993 -> /20 -> /6 -> 1/10

Is it different for ES?

Pretty sure ES is applied after pvp penalty.

even if thats the case, it doesnt matter. theyre all dividors. only the order of flat reduction would matter o.o

1 /20 /6 /10 is the same as 1 /10 /20 /6

Yep. Was a moderator on Donny's and Vavs.

Hmm ok so with flat dr let me see if this calc in the strategy guide is right

6,000 x .17 x (.93) x (.05) = 47.43 dmg to life when using one Sol for 7 flat dr.

Without Sol it is 51 damage to life.

No clue how to do the same but account for 10% dr instead of flat dr or res.

5. res (i.e., fire , light, cold, psn, magic, phys)
