This only becomes more significant of a problem for kick sins and ghosts. Hopefully blizzard patches the issue soon.
As for burst of speed, using it to achieve 6 frame trap laying speed is also insanely broken. There are some builds such as 174 FCR w/ hoto, in which your speed would be same as legacy with burst of speed.
I can see 11k trap 3FPA laying being an issue, but the "anyone that can mind blast+stomp" is not far different from smite + foh + tele hammer ; maybe less mechanically demanding I agree but same result.
You wont ever win a smiter with a kicksin without trap damage, smite beats kick in every aspect intrinsically
What is causing finishers to ignore block and def and dodge?
