1.0 LADDER OVERVIEW:

1.1 ESCNL is home to the best Assassin players, as well as the top Assassin items, it's about time we had our sin vs sin ladder revived.
1.2 This is a free-to-play ladder. Anybody caught betting or running wagers through this ladder will be removed & banned from rejoining
1.3 This ladder is open to anybody in good standing with JSP who has access to PM – tagged or known scammers/multis are not permitted to join. Any user with evidence to support a claim against a member of the ladder is encouraged to come forward.
1.4 This ladder is for GM dueling and as such, all members are required to treat each other with respect and courtesy in-game and on JSP or face possible repercussions based on the offense.
1.5 Repeat offenders to rule ignorance, GM dueling policy, or general poor attitude may face removal, suspension, or a ban from the ladder as necessary.
1.6 Duels will be stopped at 10 minutes. Whoever has the highest life percentage (current/total) is declared winner for that duel.
1.7 You may have up to two separate entries on the ladder – a build of your choosing, and a Natalya’s Assassin of your choosing (as specified in 2.5).

2.0 BUILD SPECIFICATIONS:

2.1 Trapper - an Assassin whose primary source of damage comes from the Traps skill tree. C/C and W/S builds are both permitted. Whirlwind is not permitted.
2.2 Ghost - an Assassin whose primary source of damage comes from Whirlwind & the Shadow Disciplines skill tree. Up to 1 hard point in both lightning and/or fire traps is permitted. C/C is mandatory.
2.3 Hybrid - an Assassin whose damage comes from a mixture of Whirlwind & the Traps skill tree. Both lightning and/or fire traps are permitted. C/C is mandatory.
2.4 Martial Arts (MA) - an Assassin whose primary source of damage comes from the Martial Arts skill tree. C/C and W/S builds are both permitted. Whirlwind is not permitted. This modified category also includes item-specialized builds (including but not limited to Bowsin, Bearsin, Zealsin, etc)
2.5 Natalya's - an Assassin who utilizes one of the above builds, while maintaining a 4-piece Natalya's Odium set bonus at all times.

3.0 SIGN UP INSTRUCTIONS:

3.1 New additions to the ladder will always be placed at the lowest rank - no exceptions.
3.2 If you remake your character for any reason (including Token or Akara respec), you will be placed at the bottom of the ladder. This includes swapping gear to a character with a different name or changing your name with a registered account.
3.3 If you are removed from the ladder for any reason, you will be placed at the bottom of the ladder if/when you are permitted to rejoin.
3.4 When signing up, please use the following format:

4.0 CHALLENGE INSTRUCTIONS:

4.1 When challenging another user, please use the following format:

4.2 Rank #11 and under may challenge up to one rank higher
4.3 Rank #12 and over may challenge up to two ranks higher
4.4 When challenging another user, post all information for both participants and PM the defending user. You may not challenge a user who is already in an engagement. If the challenger does not both post in the thread and PM the defender, then there is no official challenge.
4.5 Once a challenge has been made official, the series must happen within 72 hours. If the defending user does not accept the challenge or the series does not occur, the defender receives an automatic loss.
4.6 The winner must post a screenshot including at least one kill and the /time.
4.7 The winner of a challenge will receive a 72-hour grace period where they cannot be challenged. They may, however, choose to forfeit this grace period to accept a new challenge. This can only be initiated by the winner with a public post in the ladder thread made after the results of the previous series have been uploaded (e.g. the losing party cannot ask for a rematch).
4.8 A seven day ‘vacation period’ will be permitted up to twice in 365 days when a legitimate absence from Diablo 2 is unavoidable. Users in a vacation period are ignored when calculating challenge potential as if they were not on the ladder. These periods cannot be taken consecutively unless permitted by a ladder administrator.

5.0 GENERAL GM DUELING RULES

5.1 Duels take place in Hell difficulty, in the Blood Moor starting off-screen from each other.
5.2 The Blood Moor must be cleared to a reasonable extent before the series begins. Hitting a monster after a duel has started is an automatic duel forfeit.
5.3 Leaving the Blood Moor during a duel is considered a death, including accidental towning - no exceptions.
5.4 No casting of traps/missiles before both players say go
5.5 Both players must say "g" or "go" for a duel to begin.
5.6 First to 5 kills wins the series. 5-5 results in a shared rank on the ladder (rank #1-3 will start a new ft3)
5.7 Ties count as +1 to each party, regardless of current series standing
5.8 The consumption of shrines, wells, and/or other environmental fodder will result in an automatic duel forfeit.
5.9 Hacks/mods/third party programs are not permitted under any circumstances. This includes left click modding.
5.10 Refusal to gmod test/show inventory/weapon swap will result in a ban from the ladder
5.11 Items which contain spell charges are permitted, but the use of the charges is not.
5.12 All items which grant a chance to cast Amplify Damage are not permited.
5.13 Life Tap is not permitted.
5.14 Holy Freeze of any kind is not permitted.
5.15 No more than 40 Life Replenish is permitted per character.
5.16 Only one piece of % slow gear is permitted per character.
5.17 Users are limited to 16 mana potions per duel. The use of any potion other than mana is an automatic duel forfeit.
5.18 No mercenaries are permitted.
5.19 Absolutely NO pre-buff; you must pre-cast with the gear you will be dueling in. Carrying anything in your inventory except for charms is not permitted.
5.20 No overly defensive dueling. You are encouraged to PM a referee if you feel you are experiencing foul play (or record it and forward to a ladder administrator).
5.21 No avoiding contact with an opponent intentionally with no plans of attacking.
5.22 No using houses/corners to avoid damage and/or prolong duels.
5.23 Users are not permitted to touch their stash/swap gear once a series has begun, any accidental touch must be followed up with S&E/instant rejoin & belt/gear check.
5.24 If 5.23 occurs more than twice during a series, it is considered Anya bug evasion and will result in an automatic series forfeit for the offender.
5.25 No stealing gold.
5.26 No naked killing.
5.27 Widowmaker is permitted as a substitute for CTA (exception for dedicated bowsins).
5.28 Unperm items of any kind are not permitted. Users suspect of using unperm items must submit to or provide proof of a clash test to retain their position on the ladder.
5.29 Ethereal items must have renewable or permanent durability.
5.30 See 6.0 for absorbtion and resistance stacking information.

6.0 ABSORBTION/MAX RESISTANCE RULES

6.1 C/C Assassins with more than 1 hard point in traps may NOT use any absorbtion or maximum resistance gear.
6.2 C/C Assassins with 1 or less points in traps may use up to 20% absorbtion, OR 5% maximum resistance gear.
6.3 W/S Assassins may use up to 20% absorbtion AND 5% maximum resistance gear, OR 10% maximum resistance gear.
6.4 Stacked poison resist up to 85% and/or up to 75% poison length reduced by gear is allowed. (You must show belt + potions along with gear to prove where the plr/stack comes from, if need be.)
6.5 Natalya's Assassins may use any single piece of absorbtion/max resistance gear while maintaining the 4-piece set bonus.
6.6 No build is permitted to use absorbtion against a Natalya's Assassin.
