East Non-Ladder GM Melee 2v2 Setb Ladder

Please do take the time to read carefully over all the rules. The Rules and Structure of this ladder differ from that of the UGML.

- We will take sign-ups in the order which they are posted. You will be given a spot on the ladder according to the date and time you sign up.

- When signing up use this format; (be sure to post the correct section you wish to join.)
- Also, plz post the link to your partner's profile

Challenge System

- When challenging on the ladder, post all information for both participants and send a personal message to the player you challenged ASAP.

- When challenging, you may challenge someone up to 2 places ahead of you on the ladder. This does not mean you have to, but is advised if you wish to climb faster. The only time this rule changes is if the player two spots ahead of you has stated they will be away or on vacation. In this case you may challenge a player up to 3 places above your own. If the challenger wins, the challenger will take the place of the player he challenged. If the challenger loses, both players remain in their previous positions.

- After a player has been challenged, they must accept the first challenge that comes to them. All other challenges will be pushed aside until the first match is over. After all ladder matches there is a grace period that comes into effect. The victor of a match does not have to accept another challenge until 24 hours has passed. However, if they chose, they may ignore this grace period and accept any new challenges. The loser however, is penalized 24 hours and may not issue a challenge during this period.


Inactivity / The Dodge Rule:

After a challenge has been posted, it will stay open on the forum for 3 days. If the person defending does not accept the challenge, or the match does not take place within 3 days of the initial post, the challenger will automatically win the match due to the "dodge rule."

*The challenger must PM the person defending for the "dodge rule" to be in effect*

Prebuffing CtA (CtA is allowed but going to stash for more + skills is not)

Using posion (Maximum of 25psn dam on weapon is allowed)
The use of a mercenary.
Chance to cast items like death, phoenix, oath, grief.
Use of massive quantities of elemental damage on charms. (20 life / 20-29 fire damage x 38 sc's)
Maul bears are aloud to use shockwave a max of 3 times per duel

Bad Manner (Code BM)

BM1. Do not commit acts of bad manner.
BM2. Do not angle (Both must be parallel to town).
BM3. Do not buff.
BM4. Do not pre-cast.
BM5. Do not use poison.
BM6. Do not use slow.
BM7. Do not enchant.
BM8. Do not smite.
BM9. Do not charge.
BM10. Do not jump.
BM11. Do not pot.
BM12. Do not run.
BM13. Do not use whirlwind.
BM14. Do not knock-back.
BM15. Do not use items that emit auras which affect player versus player (PvP) and cause physical and/or elemental damage.
BM16. Do not emit the holy freeze aura.
BM17. Do not change gear more than once before dueling in any event.


Dueling:

-You MUST line up parallel to you opponent to avoid "Angling" an unfair advantage.
-Both players must say go in a text box before any duel starts.
- After person 1 of the team dies the other player dueles.
- players may only heal after a round is over, after both players on 1 team are dead the opposing team is awarded a point (setb style)
- Duels go first to 6 win by 2

Rules are subject to change to insure fair play and maintain the integrity of all games. Upon change, all players are required to comply with the new rules or proceed to duel elsewhere.

* You are expected to know these rules before participating on the ladder.
* Failing to abide by the rules will bring actions against you depending on the severity and times of offense.

Very well done, Kyle. Something like this has always been talked about or proposed, but no one's really got it off the ground. Great start and I'm so excited to see how partners react with each other, how teams get along or how competitive they become.

It's sure to be quite interesting: Teams will rise, teams will fall. Teams will break apart & teams will reform. This event has such potential with successes & failures and I believe this will be the only event which great emotion will be effectively shown.

One thing we should make clear before this actually begins, is this is about about forming newfound friendships/partners/teams and whatever happens, happens. Either succeed or fail together. But either way, no matter what, as long as a team does their best, that's all that really matters. It's all about fun & enhancing the melee community. If teams do break or fall apart, just do your best to have an "honorable" break-up with friendship still intact. Some teams may last a very long time, some teams may not. This is what makes this kind of event so unique and why it's been so difficult to actually implement. No one should take anything personal if a person wants to break-up a team or form another. It's part of the event and might happen often or less often. We just don't know yet, but I'm looking forward to all the ups and downs this has to offer!

One thing's for certain, it's going to be quite an "eventful" ride...
