Hey, I’m Ozymandias. I’ve been dueling in D2R all-class melee for a long time, and I want to bring my vision of fairness to life.

For years, I’ve believed that fun, competitive play starts with a fair playing field—because without fairness, what’s the point?

I’ve pushed for key changes in D2R melee, and while they’ve been adopted by many groups, they weren’t always welcomed at first.
I’ve even been banned from some ladders for challenging the status quo—but in the end, the game is better for it:

✅ Voting in D2R ladders – Before, admins made all the decisions. Now, many groups let players vote on rules.
✅ Class balancing – Melee used to be wildly unbalanced, but we’ve made progress:

- Barbs went from irrelevant to a viable class.
- Zeals used to get steamrolled by Furies, but with Death, they actually stand a chance.
- Zons were tearing through everyone with Inner Sight 20—lowering it to Inner Sight 10 made matchups much more reasonable.

But there’s one more change I’ve always wanted to make. It’s been controversial, so I’m launching a new ladder to make it happen.

Let’s cut to the chase—there’s nothing fair about getting smacked around by $10 weapons. That’s why I’m starting a GM Melee ladder with NO EDC.

If you’re tired of the “I’m too poor for a good weapon” excuse from players decked out in expensive gear while swinging an EDC, this is your chance to break free from the nonsense.

☆ JUST Melee Rules ☆

Allowed Classes
Permitted Classes: Zeal Paladin, Wolfbarb, Conc Barb, Jab Amazon, Fury Druid

General Duel Rules

Gear Changes
You may change gear twice during a FT10 match.

Respec (Token Usage)
Using a token mid-challenge results in an automatic disqualification (DQ).

Match Format
First to 10 wins per set.

Double Kills
If both players die, it is a draw (no points awarded).

No Rejoining
Once the match starts, you may NOT leave the game until it is completed.
Leaving and rejoining resets RNG and results in an automatic forfeit.
*Exception: If the opponent explicitly allows it, then rejoining is permitted.

Class-Specific Rules

<Fury Druids>
Cannot use Oak Sage or Heart of Wolverine vs. Barbarians.
Metamorphosis is allowed.
reshift back to werewolf not allowed except for fury vs fury

<Zeal Paladins>
Death Runeword allowed vs. Druids only (Druids may use Oak/HoW).
Phoenix Shield allowed only in Zeal vs. Zeal and Zeal vs. Amazon.
Fortitude Chilling Armor can remain active in Zeal vs. Zeal duels.

<Barbarians>
Fortitude Chilling Armor can remain active against all classes.
Battle Cry is allowed against all classes.
Ethereal Death Cleaver (EDC) is banned vs. Barbarians.

<Jab Amazons>
Can use 10 Inner Sight vs. ALL Classes.

*You may challenge up to 2 ranks above you.

*Once you reach Rank #4, you can only challenge one rank up.

<To issue a challenge>
PM your opponent on JSP
PM your opponent via Discord.

<Challenge Frequency>

If you were challenged and won, you may challenge immediately.
If you were challenged and lost, you must wait 24 hours to issue your next challenge.

If you issued a challenge and won, you must wait 12 hours to issue another.
If you issued a challenge and lost, you must wait:
24 hours to issue a new challenge.
48 hours to re-challenge the same person.

<Dodge Rule (4-Day Rule)>
AFK / No-reply / No-show = Auto-loss.

2 consecutive dodges = Removal from the ladder.

*It is the challenger’s responsibility to contact an admin if the opponent cannot be reached.
