Hello! I am looking to get into Barb vs Barb GM Melee and dueling with No Runewords. I have been searching for an Erep Balrog Blade but decided I should probably ask the community what to look for before I drop a couple hundred thousand FG on a set. I know I need to avoid things like Cold damage on my weapon. Is there any other Esoteric info I should know about with this type of dueling?

I want to buy a full kit but I want to be sure that I know what to look for and don't make a dozen mistakes like I have in the past with buying gear xD

If anyone can illuminate what the BIS items and settup is, that would be amazing. If you want to post some trophy items here and give me a clue what to look for, thats even better! I love seeing Godly gear.

I think these GM BvB duels forbid Grief + Forty mostly, BoTD is mostly allowed at AoW duels.

I guess its more of a hope. I thought I saw some threads on no RW Rare BvB Duelz it but maybe I am wrong. I have not invested into GM melee yet so I can change direction if something else is bigger and better. What is the most lucrative, competitive, or popular PvP format in D2:R atm? I would be down to get in LLD. I like watching Cooley's DFC, shits awesome but I get tired of the namelock teleport gameplay style tbh. Open to chatting about many things here, thanks for the heads up.

Most of the no runeword competitions are one off tournament style
Most places allow botd
Not sure about Korea though they might have different rules

What you're trying to do doesn't exist in any current gm melee format nor has it ever.

As mari-j said, no runewords are a one-off sort of gimmick thing that people do for isolated events and tourneys. It is not a consistent ruleset.

For example, AoW allows ebotd. BvB allows grief. These rules are unlikely to change.

There was an all rare gm melee league that lasted for about a year. It died... all rare/crafted is a hard ruleset to sell people on and it's very hard to balance.

why are people paying 40k for rare berserker axes that are worse than perfect EBOTD? I figured there was a reason for it. Many of the most insane rare GM melee weapons seem far worse than EBOTD. Is it just swag points and nothing to spend FG on?

Are you talking about aow? Ffa? Conc vs conc?

Also is cold damage banned in d2r due to slowing ww bp? So u can’t use Raven?
