I was thinking what would be the most straightforward yet still fun/dynamic duel rules.

Something anyone could pickup fast and easy to start getting the feel for pvp w/o need to expend more than 10fg.

1st thing that came into my mind was some sort of fixed builds, like one or two per class to allow for good fcr and frw ias etc, no charms.
(Would probably need enigma, but would have to think some way to lower even more the barrier for entry).

Has someone tried to do something similar? How did it go? Stale too fast w/o playing with itemization?

Went on to watch some entertaining lvl 9 sigon duels in lod

Although enticing maybe there is no point in trying to make a d2 version sf2 or smashbros, the itemization is just too intrisic to the game, maybe it is not a true d2 pvp experience if you didnt expend at least some time thiking and looking for gear.

It has always intrigued me why d2 pvp didnt fly as a bigger audience esport. All other possible reasons aside, seems like blizzard nerver gave a shit about it, didnt even try, as they already had other games like sc for ex.
