I'm a long-time LOD player, but was thinking of venturing into D2r. I've been doing my research on D2r, and I'm aware of the different strong opinions about the changed mechanics (especially fhr). It seems to basically boil down to:
- Do you go into D2r and adapt to the new mechanics like you've adapted to LOD changes throughout the years? You get better gfx and a larger player-base, and more duel ladders / tournaments and such. Wheee!
- Or do you stay old school with LOD, with an 'If it ain't broke don't fix it' type of approach. Pvp scene not currently as strong as D2r, but you know what to expect, and gfx aren't a make-or-break issue for me.
While I don't want to get a character all dressed up and nowhere to go in LOD, I also don't want to play a better-looking game that isn't actually better. Or, hey, if the fhr / other changes and issues are exaggerated, and if the trads are just raging, then hey I can deal with that.
So anyway go ahead and feel free to share your thoughts on that. Do you play one or the other, and why? Or both?
Happy weekend, everyone!
The changes are based on community feedback so I’m sure the fhr changes will be changed back.
The game has a bigger map and the old bugs are gone so it moves more smoothly.
It’s pretty much how the game was supposed to be played but they were limited to the technology of the times. You can always switch to the old grafix if it’s your thing.
The people who are leaving are the ones who cannot win without bugs and glitches, essentially putting them on their real respected rank based on their actual skills and abilities.
I’ve already found better items on d2r than I’ve ever found on lod, the community is just to big now.
D2r reminds me of call of duty zombies, yeah you can glitch and get a high level but are you actually even really that good?
D2r exposes everyone and I quite enjoy it.
